What to know about Nikki Haley losing to 'none of these candidates' option in Nevada Republican primary
ABC News ^

"In Nevada's Republican primary on Tuesday, Nikki Haley appeared to lose decisively to the option "none of these candidates," a troubling sign for her campaign as she seeks crucial electoral momentum against rival Donald Trump.

With the majority of the expected vote reported, "none of these candidates" received nearly double the votes that Haley earned as of early Wednesday morning.

(snip)

Douglass voiced concerns about the use of "none of these candidates" as a form of political statement, saying it could backfire on future elections.

"That could come back to bite the party for future elections because now you have made the voter base so much more aware of 'none of the above,'" Douglass said. "I think traditionally, it's not anything we've focused on as a viable selection, and now you're like, oh, I can vote 'none of the above.' That could ultimately hurt the Republican Party in future elections."

Is "mediasplaining" a word?

And I disagree with the last bit. What I get out of that is: "to avoid future embarassment of candidates foisted by the party upon an electorate who doesn't want them, we need to remove the ability of the electorate to voice that sentiment".

Well , what can you say about a candidate who loses to none of the above, in an election where Trump wasn’t even on the ballot?

How can she and her handlers spin this as some sort of victory?

The same way Biden handlers told him to go out yesterday and Blame Trump for the Border crisis - it's called lying thru your teeth.

Maybe I’m ignorant of how the Nevada process works, but I was under the impression that the “None of These Candidates” option is really just symbolic because it can’t actually WIN an election.

“...now you have made the voter base so much more aware of ‘none of the above,’” Douglass said”

So, she doesn’t want voters that are aware of all voting options? 🤔

She sounds like a democrat

Uh, PDJT got zero votes! (He wasn’t on the ballot so...). 😊. The sad thing is that looking at Clark county (vegas) and Washoe county (reno), which will determine the NV vote for prez, the combined totals way outnumbered the repubs. NOT surprised though. “Why yes Virginia, people are stoopid!”

Honestly..

I think “none of the above” should be an option on ALL elections.

And if “none of the above” wins in a general, then, there should be an election do over. Potentially with new candidates.

Allow voters to flat out reject candidates.

Nikki Haley has no problem with bogus &/or stale cases being brought against Trump. She has no problem with the treatment of the J6 political prisoners. She doesn’t think there were any issues with the 2020 election that called for a demonstration.

But then she turns around and claims that somehow TRUMP “rigged” the Nevada primary.

Oh, and ABC News forgot to follow her claim with the modifier “with no evidence”, like they ALWAYS do with Trump.

Douglass said. "I think traditionally, it's not anything we've focused on as a viable selection, and now you're like, oh, I can vote 'none of the above.'

Jimmy Carter was beaten by "Uncommitted" in the Iowa caucuses in 1976. Functionally that is the same as being beaten by "None of the Above". By casting himself as the tallest midget, Carter parlayed that win into a presidential nomination.

This is so liberal MSM. They like to “surprise” you. Once you “get it,” you will be enlighted and can educate friends, relatives, co-workers, and even random aquantances.

“Surprises” sound something like:

There are a lot of reasons to attack Nikki Haley.

The fact that she goes by her middle name and her married surname isn’t one of them.

I still say she’s fun to party with.

That’s what one has heard, anyway. That’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it.
