Jeff DeWit resigned as the chair of the Arizona Republican Party Wednesday, 24 hours after DailyMail.com published leaked audio of him offering Kari Lake a plum job or money to step out of politics.

In the tape, he can be heard explaining that powerful people would offer her a job or money if she sits out of politics for two years.

In his resignation statement he accused Lake of setting him up by recording a private conversation.

Arizona recording law stipulates that it is a one party consent state.

I listened to that recording.

His comment about the cartels was disturbing.

This should be a wakeup call for all remaining republicans.

I recall speculation and info in forum in 2022 that pretty much said that the answer to that question is “Yes”.
And it was pretty much the entire GOPe leadership in the state.

The leadership of the Gop did nothing when the dems stole the election. The GOP did nothing to stop a senile old man from the oval office and is an embarrassment and weakens the United States.

The GOP should be fighting against all that Biden has done.. They are milktoast.. And I don’t like it.

To just take it.. To be on the Acquiescent side of every rotten thing the dems do.. The people get taken too.

It’s not just the GOP, demoncrats do it as well.. its common to the uniparty.

This circumstance is a very colorful example of why the 17th Amendment needs to be repealed. The 17th put too much power and money at the hands of the party Elites, fuel by K Street whores.

You and I are on the same page. I would add that the GOP changed laws and regulations just prior to November 2020 that allowed massive COVID MAIL-IN BALLOT fraud in GA, PA, MI, and WI.

Since I’m not from Arizona, what’s “the book” on this guy?
Sheriff to Senate seems a bit of a leap. Running for governor seems like a better choice for him. A legislative position like Senator is a “gab gab then compromise” position not a executive “take action” position. Many find the glacial pace of the Senate infuriating.

Why is he preferable in some people’s mind to Lake?
The “talk-until-you-drop” Senate is a better match for a “newsie” like Lake.
