I recall a statement once that Jews had a reformation, Christianity had a reformation, Muslims need theirs. I do not think a Muslim reformation will ever be in the cards.
Cults tend to not reform. There might be breakaways, but, with Islam, that makes those who try to leave targets.
Islam certainly had a reformation.
It’s Wahhabism—- it’s a back to the Quran movement.
When you follow Al-Islam and the 37 different ahruf of the uncertainly transmitted Quran that may or may not have been actually redacted by the fictional Uthmanic recension, you get the true practice of the Deen for the Umma, as exemplified by Hamas, Iran, Hezbollah, Isis, the Muslim Brotherhood etc.
