Realistically, ‘supporting’ Ukraine is essentially fighting their war. And the way America fights wars these days, especially with hand-wringing liberals in charge, still means that Russia is going to win. Not pretty.
Russia has suffered colossal losses in men and matériel (Ukraine, too - but that's a diff. discussion). Contrariwise: Not a single American serviceman has died fighting against the Russian invasion.
By no stretch of the imagination is that "essentially" the same thing as "fighting a war."
