Russia's Supreme Court has declared what it calls "the international LGBT public movement" an extremist organisation and banned its activities across the country.
The ruling was prompted by a motion from the justice ministry, even though no such organisation exists as a legal entity.
The hearing was held behind closed doors, but reporters were allowed in to hear the court's decision. Nobody from "the defendant's side" had been present, the court said.
Russia's constitution was changed three years ago to make it clear that marriage means a union between a man and a woman. Same-sex unions are not recognised here.

I remember hearing something recently that America had put Uganda on some sort of Hit List , denying aid because Uganda has some laws against homosexuality.
So in that case, we’ve gone from saying we are tolerant of homosexuality, to saying that we are pushing for homosexuality or endorsing or affirming homosexuality.

It has nothing to do with the Russian people, it is just a tool the mobocracy uses to gain cover from the Orthodox Church, a Church that is in a symbiotic relationship with what it knows is a dictaorship, and one that protects its (the Orthodox Church) secular and financial interests.

As I said, this is just the Putin mobobocracy buying its “street kreds” with the Orthodox Church, which the Orthodox Church will gladly provide in return for protction of its secular and financial interests.
The geopolitical advantage for this for the mobocracy is it also buys support for it from ignorant Americans.

They are what serves the mobocracy, not YOUR interests.
