Those "estimates" cannot be verified and are most likely fictional.

It is impossible to count how many have died in the fighting with any real accuracy. And all parties have incentives to falsify any official "estimates".

We are flying blind here.

Does HAMAS really have 40,000 fighters as they claim?

Has the IDF really killed "over 2,000 HAMAS fighters" as has been claimed by "anonymous sources".

Has the IDF really lost "over 400 casualties" as claimed by "anonymous sources".

Have 12,000 Palestinians died in the last 6 weeks as a result of fighting, as claimed by HAMAS spokesmen?

None of these numbers seem totally implausible. And all of them could be fictional.

People making the critical decisions will not be using any of these numbers.
