He’ll be 77. Maybe he sees his limitations. Not everyone feels sharp at that age.

Not if Ronna has a say about it, mister!!

Mancin was a dead man walking. In 2024 West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice will, in all likelihood, be the Rep nominee. He announced in April of this year that he will be running for the Senate. Trump has already endorsed him. Barring a physical issue, Justice will be the new Senator replacing Mancin.

And whatever Chairman Lardbutt Maximus doesn’t eff up, McConnell will take care of by finding the worst candidate he can to make sure it remains a safe seat for the RATS as he’s done all these years for his good pal Manchin.

All politics is ultimately local, and people not FROM WV are unlikely to really "get" WV politics. Munchkin is a throwback to WV's democrat days, and you'll notice he's the last democrat standing. He was a remarkably popular governor, governed definitely 'right of center', and became a sort of Favorite Son. Mountaineers don't give that up easily ... our transition from Deep Blue to Deep Red was slow and steady. Manchin's problem is that he went to the Senate and became Schumer's bitch ... and most of us know it. His support has steadily eroded; he won the last election by way of legal shenanigans. He was NOT going to win in 2024 and everybody around here knows that.
So ... he punched out.
Now ... President? I don't think so. VP, under Newsom or some other turd? Maybe, but the idea that dragging him in that way would win WV for the democrats is ludicrous.

Is he throwing his hat in the ring to be RFK Jr’s running mate?

I don’t disagree…but do you really need “insider” information? Next year is going to be a shitshow…and then there is the economy! LOL

Republican Governor Jim Justice is going to run away with the election. Last poll I saw had Manchin down 13. He just looked at the math and decided to pack it in.

All the Congress is a stage and each Congress critter must play his part.

Ronna has a few more Botox appointments lined up, maybe she’ll get around to resigning after that.

Nope. Despite not necessarily ever having any problems there in the past, there will be a lot of late night ballot pickups in Wheeling in the next election.Nonsense. Trump has already endorsed Justice. Trump won WV in 2020 69% to 30% and in 2016 68% to 26%.
100% a GOP pick-up.

Yep. Manchin won his election in 2018 with less than 50% of the vote. It was a hair less, but for an incumbent going below 50% is bad news. W.VA has gotten much redder since then, and Manchin is the last Dem holding a statewide office. A big part of his support was the coal miners, but regardless of what fat-can union leaders say, you gotta question how many rank and file coal miners are going to vote Democrat.

Manchin - Huntsman or Huntsman - Manchin?
