Nasty drought in Syria, Iraq and Iran wouldn't have happened without climate change, study finds

A three-year drought that has left millions of people in Syria, Iraq and Iran with little water wouldn’t have happened without human-caused climate change, a new study found.

The west Asian drought, which started in July 2020, is mostly because hotter-than-normal temperatures are evaporating the little rainfall that fell, according to a flash study Wednesday by a team of international climate scientists at World Weather Attribution.

It’s a case of climate change unnaturally intensifying naturally dry conditions into a humanitarian crisis that has left people thirsty, hungry and displaced, concluded the research, which has not yet undergone peer review but follows scientifically valid techniques to look for the fingerprints of global warming.

The team looked at temperatures, rainfall and moisture levels and compared what happened in the last three years to multiple computer simulations of the conditions in a world without human-caused climate change.

“Human-caused global climate change is already making life considerably harder for tens of millions of people in West Asia,” said study co-author Mohammed Rahimi, a professor of climatology at Semnan University in Iran. “With every degree of warming Syria, Iraq and Iran will become even harder places to live.”

There’s no money for those scientists who say there is nothing unusual about climate change.
The others are anticipating big Biden and U.N. bucks for their dubious research and predictions of ‘falling skies’.
Only more taxes is needed...global taxes...
Let us throw these dweebs into any handy volcanic eruption.
And, ‘just like that’, no more doom.

I’ve read a theory that severe climate changes caused the collapse of late bronze age empires in western Asia and there was not an SUV in sight.

Sam Kinison(RIP) used to do a great comedy routine about WHY do people live in the desert. It was around the time of that Live Aid concert.

I think this is it:

On the other hand, my little corner of America's great semiarid southwest has been blessed with nice mounts of rainfall. Oh, well...Them’s the breaks.

The butterfly effect is the idea that small things can
have non-linear impacts on a complex system.

Why not blame it on those pesky butterflies?

It doesn't fit the narrative??

BS. Great swaths of the Middle East are “DESERT” and have been long before the industrial period.

Climate Change is just the new religions bogey man to get kids to eat their vegetables at night.

Over many millena we have had droughts in the Middle East and elsewhere on Earth long before the internal combustion engine and modern industry. The CO2 levels were a fraction of that today. It is called weather. It will happen again and again.

During the Middle Age warming period of several hundred years the temperature was 2-3 degrees Fahrenheit greater than today. Life flourished in Europe and around the Mediterranean due to longer growing seasons and increased rainfall. The icecaps did not melt. Life was good. The internal combustion engine and industry did not exist. CO2 levels were a fraction of that today. The media and government are lying to us for political tyrannical power.

It should be noted that we have two types of weather scientists today.

1. Scientists that get great monetary grants to study weather and publish lies that they know are lies. In effect they are charlatans and not scientists. Their “research” is published after peer review from other “scientists” that are also on government grants. It is a farce.

2. Real weather research scientists. It is very difficult for them to be published. They do not get government grants for research. Peer editors try to to make their work appear shoddy and unscientific and thus not worthy of publication. Their work is not shoddy. It is good science.

IT IS ALL ABOUT POWER AND CONTROL!

The South Pole wouldn’t be covered in glaciers either, without climate ‘change’. But humans aren’t causing any of it.

It happened 6000 years ago for 7 years. Egypt got a heads-up to prepare, and they did. People came from Syria, Cannan and other places to buy food for drought relief. Who caused the climatè change then? It certainly wasn’t man-made.

This climate change issue defies logic.
