Was this written for The NY Times?
I see this article differently from the many comments.
I don’t trust the guy and would not support him at anything, but:
This article is really criticism of the dim party, a compliment to the many who overturned McCarthy and a forecast of the end of the dim party as it exists today.
It comes across as a lib totally disillusioned with libs and the dim party.
Whether he intended it that way we will never know but if written by a conservative with the /saec label at the end.........
