Incredible news: Jim Jordan just won the GOP conference nomination for Speaker of the House!
He received 152 votes on the secret ballot but he will need 217 votes on the floor of the House next week to become Speaker.
Please encourage your congressman to vote for Jim Jordan!

The House won’t be in session until Tuesday.
Since the Gaetz caucus — all eight of them — took out McCarthy, I expect there will be a solid block of more liberal members to take out Jordan.

After both wings of the party have demonstrated their ability to bring down the house of cards, to whom will the caucus turn?
It won’t be Trump.
We are going to get a placeholder Speaker, and that may not be a bad solution under the circumstances. Given the Schumercrat veto in the Senate, nothing of substance is going to pass anyhow.
Jordan has no republican opponent for Speaker’s election.
So there will be no vote splittig. Also it is not secret ballot.
IIRC, there are 222 Republicans in the House. It's their votes he needs to get. The GOP has to get unified to wrap this thing up.
Like what? Spending more of our money on crap? Talking instead of doing? Not impeaching Biden or Mayorkas or Garland? Advocating for CR bills ?
Maybe it’s time for the establishment to get their act together.
