The USS Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group arrives in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea in order to deter any actor seeking to escalate the situation or widen this war. The forces in the area include the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78), with its 8 squadrons of attack and support aircraft, and the Ticonderoga class guided missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG 60), as well as the Arleigh Burke class guided missile destroyers USS Thomas Hudner (DDG 116), USS Ramage (DDG 61), USS Carney (DDG 64), and USS Roosevelt (DDG 80).
Efforts to increase U.S. posture continue, including the rapid movement into theater of U.S. Air Force F-15s, F-16s and A-10s to augment existing fighter squadrons in the region.
"The arrival of these highly capable forces to the region is a strong signal of deterrence should any actor hostile to Israel consider trying to take advantage of this situation," said General Michael "Erik" Kurilla, commander, U.S. Central Command.
Ridiculous comment lol 😹🤣😂
All totally public knowledge publicized by none other than ... The U.S. Navy!
And extensively covered by various military-oriented websites and publications.
You didnt notice Joe wincing today ???
His arm was hurting from the twisting ...
“steam cats doesn’t require as much maintenance as EMLs cats”
What are the advantages and disadvantages of each?
EML’s require a lot of power (and the Ford is nuclear powered) and can launch aircraft that are heavier and quicker than steam. Steam on the other hand doesn’t require recharging after every launch so it can more aircraft back to back because on most modern Nukes, you always have a supply of fresh water for steam.
Wonder if any of those stinger missiles made it to Hamas from Afghanistan.
“EML’s require a lot of power ...”
Interesting. Thanks!
With the EML, is it a capacitor that needs recharging?
Two carrier groups? They will probably collide.
Steam cats being super reliable I sure hope the Ford’s reddykilowatt launchers work out. Being a nuke the Ford’s guys are already mindful of ionizing radiation. I’d sure like to see the numbers because I hope we’re not microwaving the deck crews. There has to be some helluva flux surrounding anything powerful enough to move an airplane——at 160 MPH?
If, after looking them both up, you still think they’re the same thing, I can’t help you.
Have a nice day.
I see the differences, can you not see the similarities?
Peace to you too.
