Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Sunday the US is “working overtime” to verify reports of missing and dead Americans overseas after Hamas launched an unprecedented attack against Israel.
“We have reports that several Americans were killed. We’re working overtime to verify that. At the same time, there are reports of missing Americans and there again, we’re working to verify those reports,” Blinken told CNN’s Dana Bash on “State of the Union.”
The large-scale surprise attack by Gaza militants on Israel on Saturday has left hundreds of Israelis dead, prompting vows of retribution from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and a lethal volley of retaliatory Israeli airstrikes.
It’s unclear what Israel’s full response will look like. An Israeli military spokesperson hinted that Israel may try to take full control of Gaza for the first time since 2005, and more than 20 communities near Gaza are being evacuated.

Something over 200,000 immigrants from the US live in Israel. They are somewhat concentrated in settler areas of the West Bank. However, it seems to me that the towns along the border with Gaza have grown a lot in recent decades.
Two friends of ours are on a tourist vacation in Egypt right now. We hope the are okay. I imagine all flights out got booked very quickly.
No way to know now, but it wouldn’t surprise me a bit if we see some American fingerprints on this attack, either directly or by omission - considering that the abject hatred that the Neocons have towards Netanyahu.

Exactly right. I’d add Clinton as Secretary of State as well. It happened BECAUSE lf them. Plus Biden trading billions of dollars for hostages and snubbing Netanyahu (and making the sign of the cross in front of him). Maybe Biden did the sign of the cross in front of Netanyahu because he was praying for Israel to be destroyed in the attack he knew was coming.
Things were quiet when Trump was president and the Abraham Accords were leading to full normalization of relations between Arab countries and Israel.

Was Hamas ever known to do the video beheadings like ISIS did? I could imagine they would do this for effect since they are sick animals.
