Maybe. Newsom is on record that should this occur he would appoint a black woman. So, let’s consider this possibility. Dem powerbrokers are desperate to run someone other than Biden for POTUS. However, what to do about Kamala as they know she can’t win. So, what if Newsom appoints Kamala for the open senate slot. This conveniently takes care of her as potential POTUS candidate - and leaves the top slot open for Newsom should Biden be “persuaded” to not run for reelection. Anyway, a possible scenario…
