I met and interviewed her once in 1986 or 1987 at the mayor’s office in San Francisco when she was mayor. She was quite charming then and opposed a lot of the craziness rampant at that time. She was mayor from 1978-1988. As Senator, as we all know, she embraced a lot of the left wing craziness, unfortunately. May her soul Rest In Peace.

I do not understand politicians and other government officials who cling to their offices until death and until well after they are mentally and physically able to handle the demands of the job. This does not serve the people well and was certainly not the intention of our Founding Fathers.
