Vladimir Putin has been dealt a huge blow after a new poll showed enthusiasm among Russians for the Ukraine war has plunged to a record low as the country turns on him over the surging casualty rate.
Putin ordered Russia's troops to begin their invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022 but increasing losses in the battlefield have left his countrymen firly on the backfoot against Volodymyr Zelensky's heroes.
Now new data from Russian pollster Levada has revealed just 38 percent said they definitely support "the actions of the Russian armed forces in Ukraine" - down from a high of 52 percent in March 2022.
Just over a fifth (21 percent) of the 1,600 Russians questioned last month said they probably or definitely do not support their country's actions in Ukraine - up from 14 percent last year.
Only a further 32 percent expressed moderate support, with 10 percent having no opinion on it at all.
Only 17 percent said they followed events in Ukraine "very carefully", showing Russian engagement with the war has also plummeted. This was down from the peak of 32 percent recorded in September 2022.
Significantly, an additional 17 percent said they "don't follow at all" and 34 percent followed "without much attention" - both record highs.
Half of the respondents said they would like the commencement of peace talks between Russia and Ukraine to end the war, versus 38 percent who were in favor of continuing military operations.
Among the most common reasons given by those backing peace talks included the number of casualties in Ukraine and being "weary of war."
But despite this, the survey revealed there is still very little support for making any concession to end the war with Ukraine.

Yet, EVERY Soviet/Russian leader, starting with Gorbechev has said that Ukraine will NEVER be permitted to join NATO - so is it really just ‘Putin’, or is one of the standard Leftist propaganda methods being used here?
One other pattern worth noting with these people - only in very rare exceptions do they bother criticizing Biden, on anything, but many have blasted Trump in the past, and some continue to do so now.
Russia would be so much better off if we could just mount a color revolution and install a western supported democracy like we did in Ukraine.

The way they assess the honesty of a person poled is by asking the same question two ways. One will say, for example, I agree with the policies of (three names but not Putin). Then later the same but one name is Putin.

Yeah, it’s true. Just look at Biden’s Covid vax hoax, mandates, shutdowns, not to mention the vax injuries and deaths…..the US will never apologize for turning Ukraine into a waste land, BUT they will pay ( 10 percent to Joe and corporations) billions to rebuild the half they end up keeping.
