Activists upset over charges associated with London's Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) are unleashing a bit of vandalism by disabling and destroying CCTV enforcement cameras all over the region.
Viral videos and images have been circulating the internet showing cameras splayed on the pavement and even protestors actively damaging the equipment as one of the U.K.'s most controversial motoring laws plans to expand its reach to an additional 5 million residents. When it does, it'll become one of the world's largest financially-motivated efforts to combat vehicle emissions.

I’ve driven right through the heart of London, across the Tower Bridge and the River Thames and it IS a pain in the butt. But not because of the traffic, but because of the lack of good signage.

It was back in 2003 that there was an uprising in the UK against the “gatsos”, or speed cameras, in which over 700 of them were destroyed. At £24,000 each, plus the labor involved, it did much to take away the monies raised by the “stealth tax”.
Interestingly, a preferred method used by the vandals was an old car tire with some gasoline in it, over the square head of the gatso.
I think this would be extra ironic if used against car emission cameras, as you can imagine how much black smoke would be given off by a burning tire.

Interesting...I’ve said the same, having been born and raised over there during the 70’s & 80’s. There’s a simmering anger that the working class in England have bottled up for years. The fight is there but the ability to organize and be truly represented isn’t. Tommy Robinson, one that was successful, has been given the Trump treatment, imprisoned multiple times over the vaguest of claims without a jury trial. He called out the Pakistani Muslim rape gangs targeting young English girls over a decade ago, years before the media finally acknowledged it. His name has been smeared by the media a million times. While some have come to realize he isn’t the racist that is claimed - too many still just listen to the media.
