States can't do that. See the US Constitution and requirements to run for president. SCOTUS would have to do their job though.

I believe the bigger danger comes from a private party, such as the GOP itself, or should I say GOPe. Not sure how that would play out.

All that said, there will likely not be a verdict before the election.

He has not been charged with anything that precludes ballot access.

Besides, it would require conviction.
