It's hard enough for a Republican to run in NYC anyway, but Curtis Sliwa was not a serious candidate.

Hey, it can be fun to listen to Curtis Sliwa in the radio, but he's also a nutcase.

I'd rather Adams was not the mayor, but you can't argue that Sliwa had a chance with New York voters. The already voted twice for DeBlasio, and Adams was a lot less extreme with him, and talked enough anti-crime game.

-Sliwa was never even a Republican until 2020

-His last domestic partner was a Democrat, and his current wife is an animal rights activist.

-Sliwa admitted that he faked his own kidnapping by transit cops in 1983. (While Adams was in the Police Academy)

-Sliwa admitted to fake subway rescues.

-He has a track record of saying goofy things.

But he, Mario Cuomo endorsed the Guardian Angels.
