A New York court ordered new congressional maps be redrawn ahead of the 2024 midterms, siding with Democrats salivating at the chance to overturn several embarrassing losses last November.
The Appellate court reversed a lower court on Thursday and ordered the state’s redistricting commission to start work on new proposed state congressional lines impacting 26 House seats.
“We’re looking forward to getting back to work,” said Karen Blatt, the commission’s Democratic co-executive director. “And we’re looking forward to working with our Republican side as well.
If the congressional districts revert to the lines drawn in 2022, it would also seriously jeopardize Republican wins in battleground seats on Long Island, Staten Island and the Hudson Valley, which experts pinpoint as key to icing out Democratic control of the House, and possibly end GOP control of the House.

When Democrats can’t compete, they cheat,” House GOP Chairwoman Elise Stefanik and state Republican Chairman Ed Cox said in a joint statement.
Republicans vowed to take the politically charged case to New York’s highest court.
“Democrats want to rig the congressional district lines in their favor,” roared former GOP Rep. John Faso of the Hudson Valley district. “New York State now has more competitive congressional districts than any state in the nation.”
If the decision is upheld by the Empire State’s highest court, the Court of Appeals, they would replace the maps used for the 2022 elections – which were redrawn by a neutral, court-ordered “special master” after Albany Democrats gerrymandered a previous version of the district lines.

Alabama is going to lose a Republican seat too. The Feds are going to make us add another black district.
As long as we have early voting, mail-in voting, any excuse absentee, ballot harvesting, and RCV-enabled voting machines, redistricting is just an attention-getting handy distraction from the rest.
I called this *months* ago. New York attempted to install one of the most egregious Democrat gerrymanders before the 2022 elections and were thwarted, but anyone with functioning brain cells knew the reprieve was only temporary.
Even without implementing a new gerrymander, the GOP stood to probably lose 3 seats or so (no, it’s not just Santos) because these were all primarily fluke wins: CD-3, CD-4, CD-17, CD-19 and CD-22. And a few other GOP seats are hardly safe either: CD-1, CD-2, CD-11.
That’s WITHOUT any new hyper-Democrat gerrymander.
The original plan was for the GOP to be screwed down to something like a 23-3 or 22-4 disadvantage in the New York delegation — right now it’s 15-11 which is way above any realistic high water mark for the Republicans — and the Rats are damn well going to go for broke here. They may not quite get it to 22-4 but it’s going to be pretty close to that.
These extreme far-left “judges” who are out there interfering with elections need to be arrested and thrown in jail. Elections are none of their business.
Thanks to the 17th Amendment, Presidents could regularly nominate Lefty, anti-Tenth Amendment, social justice lawyers to the federal bench and expect confirmation.

Like California it is a jerry-rigged system of bizarre registration and voting rules, strong government-union participation and organization in elections, government domination of all industries and media, and an ever-increasing number of cronies and dependents
