there. Fixed it
Not a particularly informative article as to why the price went up in Washington. Tax increase? New formulation requirements that is affecting supply? New regulations on stations?
A people trapped by a corrupt regime in Washington.
where are they getting $4.93 a gallon? It’s $5.49 here in Cartelfornia.
Interesting how they do not mention that our gasoline tax in Washington has gone up over $.50 a gallon since the first of the year. Weirdly this is common practice. Our increase in “government fees on gasoline” is not showing up as a tax increase when you search on Google, etc. when you look it up because it is called a “carbon emissions offset fee”. This is called lying. No matter how you look at it, we have the highest price on gasoline in the country here, because we now have the highest gasoline taxes in the country.
“Offset credits in Washington are “under the cap,” meaning we reduce the number of allowances we issue by the number of offset credits used, keeping us on track to meet our statutory commitment to reduce emissions by 95% by 2050.”

You should pay more to live in that idyllic paradise. Here in the Southeast we pay 2.85
Average price in Aiken County, South Carolina is 3.04/gal. Glad I live here.

Why does Putin hate Washington?(sarcasm)
Which begs the question (I am a WA resident), where is the money going? Gov. Dimslee is in Europe this week pushing the carbon emissions agenda......
Where is Tim Eyman? We need an initiative to reverse this silly “fee” calculated in the ivory tower of the Dept. of Ecology.
State avg.
I routinely find under 4 dollars, i usually pay 4.20- 4.30 these days. This is around Fresno, Stockton, San Jose and further up north.
Do you mean the state, the city or both?
3.29 in ft. Lauderdale
$4.79 here in Placer County CA
In terms of percentage, I was surprised at the gap between California’s gas prices and those of Texas when we moved here in the fall of 2018. In the 5 years since, that percentage gap between the states has narrowed. Texas is slowly being turned purple, and once that happens, the collapse to blue will be rapid.
Interestingly, it doesn’t matter which.
Short term, I do not know.
Long term - by 2035 - our retiring governor Jay Inslee has saddled Washington state with standard of living destroying clean energy regulations.
One mystery - Washington state has sold about $1 billion of carbon credits. Apparently, in-state businesses will be required to use them in the near future.
Apparently, the state government has already received the money and has budgeted it for clean energy projects.
Unsolved mystery - who would invest real money in carbon credits that will probably motivate most industries to move out of Washington state!
That state should probably be cut off entirely for all the good they’re worth
