Ahead of President Joe Biden’s trip to the Bay Area, low-flying military aircraft have been spotted in the suburbs.
Residents of Marin County were surprised to see MV-22 Ospreys and Sikorsky White Hawk helicopters in the area Friday. At least five aircraft did maneuvers around the area, including in Larkspur, before heading off. But there’s no need to worry about an impending ground invasion: They’re likely here because Biden arrives in the Bay Area on Monday.
Biden will be on a fundraising blitz among wealthy California Democrats. On Monday, he’ll be the guest of honor at a reception hosted at the Atherton home of venture capitalist Steve Westly and his wife Anita Yu. The Bay Area News Group, which saw an invitation to the event, reports the get-in-the-door price is $6,600 per person. Next, Biden will hop over to Los Gatos for another fundraiser hosted by Microsoft Chief Technology Officer Kevin Scott, his wife Shannon Hunt-Scott and LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, Reuters reports.

Funny and sad....was a time, only 40 years ago, when low flying military aircraft in the Bay Area was the norm....not something newsworthy....

I don't know who pays the local PD and SO to run around with the massive federal people but the cost is high.
In 2017 someone spent a lot of time adding up the Trump travel numbers and the actual cost to run the AF1/2 jets is chump change compared to the fleet of aircraft that bring the security, communications, motorcade (yes including a black painted ambulance), patrol boats, all via air and paid for by us. Just the costs involved with the helicopters, surveillance aircraft, national guard fighters, and air traffic control is in the millions per hour.

We used to have squadrons of P3s from Moffett flying over our house all the time headed to the Pacific for submarine searches. They were below 1,000 feet (it often felt like 500 feet!) and made everything in the house vibrate.
