In a shocking turn of events, the Rushingbrook Children’s Choir was interrupted and stopped while singing the National Anthem in Statuary Hall at the United States Capitol.
The children, part of the esteemed Rushingbrook Children’s Choir, had traveled to Washington, D.C., for a scheduled Capitol tour and had received prior approval to sing a short set of patriotic songs inside the historic Statuary Hall.
However, as their angelic voices filled the grand hall while singing The Star-Spangled Banner with pride, Capitol Police rudely intervened, insisting that the children stop singing immediately. The abrupt interruption stunned the young performers, the choir director, and the assembled audience.
The Capitol Police did not allow the young children to finish the song and sought to explain to the choir director that singing the national anthem at the nation’s Capitol is considered a form of protest.

I enjoy some of the things Gateway Pundit brings to our attention but I despise that they always spin their stories to match their editorial stance headline writing.
They find the story, decide to write it up to match THIS headline and the truth, perhaps more subtle gets lost.
They sang the first verse and weren’t stopped. When they started to sing the 4th verse with it’s much patriotic themes, I think that’s what caused the issue. Most folks don’t know that there are 4 verses, but the choir went to the last verse....
Oh, thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war’s desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav’n-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: “In God is our trust”:

That’s what got them into some trouble I think.
That said they didn’t do anything wrong and the cops that stopped them were idiots.
Actually it was the 4th verse but other wise I agree completely...and if you look at the words of the 4th verse it doesn’t fit with woke-y DC politics.

I had expected all kinds of crazyness, but didn’t expec this. It shocked and outraged me.
Goebbels would have killed to have the media these new fanatics enjoy.

And this be our motto: “In God is our trust”: (The choir director took liberty to have the choir repeat in the singing the words "In God is our trust" one more time!) This is where the Capitol Cop went spastic and can be seen grabbing the plain clothed person's shirt to get him to take action!)

(The guy who was grabbed by the Gestapo officer can be seen turning around and walking to the choir director and speaking into his ear. The choir finished this line and the director stopped his choir by direction. The last word they sang was in the 7th line of the fourth verse "wave". This left 12 words that were not to be sung.)
The last 12 words of the Star Spangled Banner were all that remained. Those twelve words...

Agreed. I would have, at one time, said that in today’s world their bile would have got them shut down before they achieved even slight traction. Now, ....
