Kingmaker Rupert Murdoch Hosted Ron DeSantis at His California Ranch and Told Him: ‘Fox News Will Support Your Bid for President in 2024’

Fox Corp boss, Rupert Murdoch has officially taken a side in the Republican race leading up to the 2024 National elections, and this time he is backing Ron DeSantis.

According to Vanity Fair, the conservative news mogul invited the Florida Governor to his Vineyard in Bel Air, California for dinner in 2020 and assured him that Fox would support his potential presidential run in 2024.

Earlier this year, signs of this sentiment became more apparent as Fox implemented a soft ban on Trump and began featuring DeSantis more frequently.

Additionally, during this time, the Dominion lawsuit loomed over the news corporation, prompting it to distance itself from the election controversy and thus steer clear of Trump.

Murdoch even expressed regret, stating that he would have preferred his anchors to be more assertive in denouncing Trump's election conspiracies that defined his campaigns. He was also quoted saying, "I would have liked us to be stronger in denouncing it in hindsight," per the Independent.

As the situation unfolded, Knewz reported allegations of higher-ups within the company trying to shift the blame for the election denial onto its anchors. A senior producer claimed that the company was scapegoating her and her female colleagues, including Maria Bartiromo.

Perhaps the most significant move by Fox to close the door on Trump and his 2020 election denial scandal came with the dismissal of Tucker Carlson and the eyewatering settlement reached with Dominion.

On Trump's side, his decision to participate in CNN's Town Hall event, despite their previous antagonistic relationship, emphasized his falling out with Murdoch.

However, despite the influence of the heavyweight News empire and its support of DeSantis, Trump remains the favorite among Republicans as seen in recent polls by Fox News and Gallup.

Trump publicly broke with the democrats. Reagan did too. That is forgiven. Most people get smart sooner or later.
A republican posing as a conservative that is in cahoots behind the scenes currently with the Bush and GOPe cabal is certainly going to raise eyebrows and cause mistrust with the GOP voters right now.

I posted all of that stuff here in 2016. Where were you in '16?

Trump then proved to me that he was MAGA.

Wow, that is so fraudulent. Reagan had a 25 year track record. Trump had no such thing. Let's face it Democrats have taken over the GOP.

Republican used to love Scalia and detest Anthony Kennedy. Trump came along and kicked Scalia in the teeth by nominating two Kennedy clerks on the Supreme Court. That's when conservatism died. When no one was left to defend Scalia, and they cheered Kennedy's legacy. Complete Clinton takeover. Just admit it already.

MAGA was used by Bull in 1992 and Hillary in 2008. You proved it it.

Have normally smart people lost their minds?

According to Vanity Fair,

Really? You're going to believe that VANITY FAIR is going to get this scoop?

Furthermore, the anti-DeSantis bromide is that Ron's a Deep State plant. If true, then why in the wide world of sports would VF publish a story that effectively paints "their guy" as a RINO?

This whole story is so bigly stupid that it should have been posted with a barf alert.

And yet, here we are, 100+ posts later and everyone is lapping it up.

I was here in 2016 sticking up for conservatism and opposing Clintonism. Where were you? Where were you when Trump nominated two Kennedy clerks to the Supreme Court? Where were you when Trump nominated a Kennedy clerk to replace Scalia. You cheered the Clinton takeover of the GOP. You were okay with Kennedy over Scalia. That is shameful, but you are proud of it.

I’m wondering if Melania is still with him now.

I haven’t seen a photo of them together for awhile.

Trump promised he would fight the GOP establishment, and the Democrats. Then when he was elected he Jebbed out and spent four years as Nancy Pelosi's butler. He stuffed every position of his administration with RINO after RINO. Is that what a conservative would do?

At the end of the day, he put two Kennedy clerk's on the Supreme Court. Let's hear you justify how Kennedy is better than Scalia? How can you do that with a straight face.

The Trump SC overturned Roe v. Wade, something I never thought I would see in my life time.

With the EPA decision and hopefully a good Chevron decision, the illegitimate power of the Deep Administrative State will be stopped.

Can you explain to me why a conservative should cheer two Kennedy clerks on the Supreme Court, and not two Scalia clerks on the Supreme Court.

I am team Scali 100%, and opposed to team Kennedy 100%. You explain to me why I am wrong.

The Trump SC overturned Roe v. Wade,

Ruth Bader Ginsburg said Roe v. Wadewas "decided wrongly." Do you contend RBG was a conservative. By the way, Trump was furious about the Hobbs decision.

Enough is enough. It’s gonna take a lot of convincing for me to accept DeSantis as the “true conservative”. He has all the wrong friends, and Trump has all of the right enemies.
