The entire Bakhmut Citadel area has fallen to the Russians, and the Children’s Hospital area also has been taken.
The last part of the city remaining uncaptured is a small corner close to the Ukrainian flank operation facing Ivanjske. This area straddles an important roadway.
At this stage I don’t see much point for the Ukrainians continuing other than to evacuate any troops remaining.

Meanwhile Ukraine is keeping up its flank operations (north and south of Bakhmut) and the Russian army so far is not doing much about these operations. It appears the Russians now see them as diversionary.
Ukrainian propaganda is saluting the successes on the flanks and has nothing to say at all about what has happened in the city proper. This is not surprising, as they expect their line to be broadcast to the world, hiding what is really happening.
The impact on Zelensky is yet to come. He is heading out to attend the G-7 in Japan, probably to avoid repercussions at home. The official reason for his trip, to seek armaments, seems a fool’s errand.
How did they do this while running away? Personally, I’m beginning to believe that people lie during war.
For all of you that have been in denial that the Ukraine would hold on to or win the Battle of Bakhmut, your reality check has just bounced.

The American people are being lied to by the collective West. Those supporting Biden’s Ukie war are being had, much like Biden’s Covid vax hoax, masks, mandates and shut downs.
Finally some are awakening from their slumber. Their is a price to pay for ignorance.

After two years of lie-based lockdowns and thousands of vax induced deaths and injuries, the edger of government and big tech to illegally mass surveil citizens along with recent revelations of the DOJ/FBI/CIA involvement in Biden’s installation in the White House, we have to exercise EXTREME scepticism of who is labelled crazy and who is labelled a threat. All “crazy” means today is a person who has an ethical position against the US security state and for individual autonomy. I would also urge the utmost scepticism when you come across the words: “experts, safety, misinformation, disinformation and conspiracy theory. Those are propaganda terms direct from the security state’s lexicon and aimed at civil liberties.
We have been paying that price already in the form of an enormous cost of a dysfunctional public, and, sadly, private education system that is indoctrinating folks into what is the preferred standard of behavior rather than making informed and productive citizens. Out of this bad investment we are reaping a disaster. BRICS and a defense establishment that is now an internatioanl laughing stock. We can't defend Ukraine's borders and won't defend our own.
It all goes back to former CIA Director George H W Bush grasping the brass ring of sole superpower and global hegemony after the fall of the USSR.
The reaction of other nations and cultures, ranging from outright opposition to passive aggressive behavior, was entirely predictable.

Bachmut hasn’t yet fallen, as the article admits, many months after it was expected.
The operations on the flanks are indeed “diversionary” because they threaten an encirclement of the main Russian forces.
I’m unaware that Ukraine and the media aren’t publishing what happens in the city, I see a map every day which now shows the city is 95% under Russian control.
Going to the G8 to get more support could not possibly be a “fool’s errand”.
No one is in denial about Bachmut, rather they are in amazement about what Ukraine has accomplished.
