While it is not a good thing that these items fell into the Taliban’s hands, probably 95-100% of that material was not current US configuration and without repair parts and maintenance, a lot of it is unserviceable junk by now. Night Vision and thermal optics need new image intensifier tubes fairly regularly and the sources for those tubes is very limited.
