Curious about the closure in Bentonville, Arkansas. That’s a nice area and isn’t the Walmart headquarters there too?

That, plus the one in Florida are the only non Democrat areas. But I'm also curious as to the reasoning behind closing the one in the Chicago area with a "pick-up only" concept.
Possibly such a change in the neighborhood demographics that even pick-up sales no longer works?

Bentonville is indeed where their HQ is.
I would have to believe this is either one of their oldest, smallest stores, or some sort of concept store that they could closely monitor.

That is a 'pick up only' location/store.
I think it was a trial run that apparently wasn't too successful.
Several years ago, Wmt opened/took over several small grocery stores in some small towns. They closed most/all of them several years later. Apparently, those smaller stores couldn't generate the revenue required to keep them open.

Probably too many Walmart markets there. If you follow Hwy 71 West, when you get to Rainbow Curve, then take Hwy 12, there is another Walmart market.
I’ve seen several Walmart stores close when a larger store is built nearby.
Where I live there has been four Walmart stores in the last 60 years. All have closed when a larger store opened. Now there is a market on the West side of town and a supercenter on the East side of town.
In a neighboring county there was a Walmart at the County seat. When a Supercenter opened ten miles north in another town, everyone started going there so the local one closed down. It is now a big grocery store not owned by Walmart.
