CHICAGO (WLS) -- At least 13 people have been shot in weekend gun violence across Chicago, police said.
On Friday night, a 37-year-old man drove himself to the University of Chicago Medical Center at about 7:36 p.m. after being shot in the back, police said. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are not yet known.
Hours later, a 24-year-old man was shot inside a vehicle in Back of the Yards, police said. The shooting happened in the 4400-block of South Honore Street at about 11:23 p.m. The Chicago Fire Department transported the victim, shot in the back, to Stroger Hospital in fair condition.
Minutes later, a 30-year-old man was shot in a Humboldt Park alley, police said. The shooting happened in the 900-block of North Central Park Avenue at about 11:30 p.m. The victim, shot in the foot, was dropped off at RUSH University Medical Center in good condition.
On Saturday morning, an 18-year-old man was shot in Hermosa, police said. The shooting happened in the 4100-block of West North Avenue at about 2:21 a.m. CFD transported the victim, shot in the neck, to Stroger Hospital in critical condition. What led up to the shooting is not yet known. There is no one in custody and Area Five detectives are investigating.
Last weekend, at least 17 people were shot, four fatally, in weekend gun violence across Chicago, police said.

I guess the only problem in Chicago is “gun violence”. I assume there are no rapes, robberies, thefts or other attacks that don’t involve a gun. So if we ban guns, all of Chicago’s crime problems will be solved!!!
One Freeper a few days back reminded everyone to check your guns. Some may have escaped and committed some gun violence.
Of course, this is really criminal violence. The vast majority of shooters, or probably every single shooter, will have a long criminal record, will have violated parole multiple times, and will never be punished. It’s just the way Democrats do things.

These are generally gang bangers and drug gangs. Only a good police dept and AG can cope. Chicago has a woke police dept and a Soros funded AG (Kim Fox). Goodbye Chicago!
The victims are lucky that the Chicago gunslingers usually have 3-4 different drugs in their systems which doesn't hep their aim.

I was in Chicago this morning. The local radio station said that 15 people were shot this weekend.
In the next state over, Michigan, the murders of people on the Michigan State University campus February 14th by a non-student 46 year old black man has resulted in 11 new bills restricting gun rights being introduced in the legislature, to supplement existing gun laws on the books.
They already had a problem in that the killer would not have been allowed to have a gun as a convicted felon but an absurd plea deal allowed him to technically become guilty of a misdemeanor and get one. Lives were lost because the system was soft on crime for his case.
Local news has many stories of the tearful vigils and interviews (fully justified) but end with "the answer is gun control" as students said often.
The true problem is black violence. The news only 1% of the time allows the genuine photos of the killer. The rest shows the piles of stuffed animals and candles in vigils.
