Kevin Cramer says DeSantis has earned right to be ‘at the head of the class’

Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-ND) advocated for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to be the lead 2024 presidential candidate, arguing he has earned the right to be “at the head of the class.”

Cramer argued the Republican Party is “in desperate need of some new leadership” and that former President Donald Trump may struggle to achieve the GOP nomination depending on “who else is in the race,” he said during his appearance on NBC's Meet the Press.

“Gov. DeSantis … has certainly earned the right to be at the head of the class … not just through his political rhetoric, but through his successful governing of a very large state,” Cramer said. “We’ve seen him around the stump a little more now doing the things that potential presidential candidates do.”

Exactly.

Folks can say whatever they want about polls. Don’t care.

Except for one that was done at a RINO conference in SC, DeSantis doesn’t come close.

This clown is more proof, as if more were needed, of what Pres Trump was up against from Day 1.

Kevin Cramer is my Senator. Look, you guys are reading far too much into this. Cramer endorsed DeSantis because it’s the easy thing to do; the path of least resistance. This “go along to get along” fool’s #1 priority is to get reelected, nothing else. He’s not part of some grand conspiracy, believe me. He’s not that bold.

He was appointed by Trump and was there for about a year...until he was appointed Secretary of State. What’s wrong with you people...you make your decision on one thing. Witgh your method, you will eliminate everyone.

Jeb had $100,000,000 also, didn’t he?

These fools can’t see the forest for the trees. The more they do stuff like this, the more they fortify the base for Pres Trump. They don’t understand not have learned anything.

Pres Trump doesn’t need all that money. He mentions something controversial, the media gets fixated on it. He proves them to wrong and himself right. And his message gets out. He doesn’t need money for that.

And that picture that was posted, aside from Massie, represents absolutely EVERYTHING wrong with the so-called Republican Party.

And Pompeo has it? He did saw that it was wise to ride Pres Trumps coattails, he did as he was told. Nothing more.

Was he the point man for the Abraham Accords? Nope.

He followed orders.

Nope. Trump is too old right now as it is. Simply put: Trump can’t win again. I voted for him twice and knocked on doors for him in the rain - and one day when t snowed - in PA but I am not voting for him in the primaries. Too much baggage, can’t attract Independents and Dems. I know a number of two time Trump voters who won’t vote for him again. I am tired of his pettiness. No more old men in their late 70s

I saw it put perfectly the other day, with regards to how ‘successful’ DeSantis is.

“DeSantis has the perfect trifecta”

But I’d go even further than that. A lot of the bills he gets credit for originated in the Florida legislature, not his office.

Apparently he doesn’t have an AG nor state law enforcement trying to frame him for made up crimes.

He has the majority support of the people in his state. He doesn’t have counties suing him every day.

He has the support of the majority of the county governments and various agencies, within.

He has, literally, NO opposition.

As the Fla GOP guy said: 1,000,000 moved to Florida…over 800,000 registered as Republicans. That didn’t happen because of DeSantis. They took their police and fire pensions, already conservatives, and moved. And DeSantis won by 400k votes. Does that math mean that without that migration he would have lost? IDK.

Time will tell.

But as one comment on this thread, from CTH, states, there is a very large group of ‘Republicans’ that would rather 4 more years of Biden or 8 of Newsome, than 4 more of Pres Trump. That’s scary for everyone.

The RINOs are desperate to push DeSantis because they have nobody to run against Trump. DeSantis has no shot.

“Cramer argued the Republican Party is “in desperate need of some new leadership””

DeSantis has been in politics longer than Trump has, and he’s definitely more Establishment than Trump. But Cramer isn’t really looking for new leadership. He’s looking to go back to the pre-Trump status quo. Trump GAVE us new leadership for four years, and that was all the new leadership Cramer could handle. Now he wants to rebrand the Establishment as new leadership and put it back in charge.

The junior senator from North Dakota and at one time the state chair of the Republican Party. President Trump encouraged him to challenge “Heidi” Heitkamp for the US senate race in 2018. He was not going to run against her; I think he was afraid he would lose. President Trump convinced him he could win and he did.
