South Carolina GOP Rep. Ralph Norman says that the Republicans are working on a legislative plan to shrink the size of government.
"We have got to present the American people a plan," Norman said on Wednesday's edition of the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "Financial security is national security, and we're not on a course where we can can maintain that trajectory. It has got to be changed, and people realize that."
While Rep. Norman was one of the 20 Republicans who voted against House Speaker Kevin McCarthy during the election for that position earlier this month, he acknowledged McCarthy was doing a good job as Speaker...

Sorry about that double headline...
Ralph Norman is my Congress Critter! And I’m glad of it!
Palmetto State ping, please!
If they did trim the government that would be a good headline worth of posting it 2X——
If they did trim the government that would be a good headline worth of posting it 2X——
At least something good comes out of South Carolina.
Well, since $3+ trillion of the $4 trillion feds is UNCONSTITUTIONAL, wouldn’t you say trimming A LOT would be a good idea??
If the private sector can do it, government doesn’t need to do it.
I’ll believe it when I see it!
I’ll believe it when I see it!
It’s easy to grandstand when you know it will never pass in the Senate.
If by “trim” they mean expand, then yes, that’s what will happen.
Same here.
Cut off all funding to the deep state, and inflict the death penalty on any government official or contractor going the black budget/off budget route engaged in drug or human trafficking to raise money.
He’s crazy enough to do that. Wait, what?
Oooops, wrong thread... Sorry.
Start with eliminating the education department. Never needed and very intrusive.
Then, consolidate some of the departments, like the FDA/CDC. Too much redundancy.
The DOJ should be walled away from the White House and head of the DOJ should be CHOSEN and approved by congress, house and senate.
Judges at SCOTUS should be term-limited to no more than 10 years, and we should have term limits for the house and senate. No more lifers anywhere. It’s supposed to be government by and for and by the people.
Create a committee to go through every line in the budget and ask “how does the constitution call for this”
Federal research grants for putting shrimp on treadmills, for example, don’t appear to be in there.
“...the Republicans are working on a legislative plan to shrink the size of government. ...”
Hallelujah!!! Do it!!!!
“...shrink the size of government.”
What an awful fate that would be.
It's TIME to DownSize_DC!
Restore the Constitution!Size DC!
If only.
