President Trump slammed Joe Biden’s “reckless spending spree” in a new policy video posted to Truth Social on Friday, offering Americans a common sense approach to cutting unnecessary spending while maintaining Social Security and Medicare benefits for the nation’s seniors.
“Under no circumstances should Republicans vote to cut a single penny from Medicare or Social Security to help pay for Joe Biden’s reckless spending spree – which is more reckless than anybody’s ever done or had in the history of our country,” Trump stated.
He continued, “Biden has blown out the Federal budget, wasted trillions on left wing lunacy – and the ridiculous Green New Deal, which is a tremendous problem and embarrassment to us.”
He noted that while Biden’s “out of control spending” needed to be halted, “the pain should be borne by Washington bureaucrats, not by hardworking American families and American seniors. The seniors are being absolutely destroyed in the last two years.”
Via Trump’s campaign website, his policy approach on the issue of healthcare maintains a commitment to also “stop all COVID mandates and restore medical freedom, end surprise medical billing, increase fairness through price transparency, and further reduce the cost of prescription drugs and health insurance premiums.”
Trump hammered the point home by firing off a list of budget items that could easily be cut before ever considering touching Social Security or Medicare:
The president added, “But DO NOT CUT the benefits our seniors worked for and paid for their entire lives. Save social security – don’t destroy it. The Democrats are looking to destroy Social Security. We’re NOT going to let them do it.”
This reminds me that Trump used to be a Democrat, and still believes some of their old propaganda.
When SS uses up it’s saved up government bonds and hits Pay as You Go, everyone automatically takes a 20% cut. It’s automatic.
It was in the original Act snd is still law.
Some of the very best Republicans used to be Democrats. They did not leave the party, the party left them.
I love Trump.
Knowing what he faces, and the evil that is after him, I struggle to be hopeful.
But we will vote for him. My husband and I.
And we pray for him also.
Yeah, but too many repubs are happy to fund everything under the sun, but suddenly get serious and austere when it’s time for Social Security.
They throw 8 trillion on the war on terror, and have just started for Ukraine. They use tax incentives to subsidize and actually PAY for offshoring our jobs.
But they are horrified to fund Social Security.
From the guy who allowed lockdowns and paid people to stay home.
I like the phrase he used: “Climate extremism”. Let THEM be the extreme ones that we’re always accused of being. Turn it around on them for a change.
From the guy who allowed lockdowns and paid people to stay home.....
Were lockdowns done by the federal government or state governors???
Trump allowed them to happen and didn’t find it necessary to close the border. The inflation is from his Covid policy.
sorry state govenments had the power not the fed.
Trump became a politician the minute he came down the escalator in 2015 and declared he was running for president. He will be running for president a third time in 2024. That sure sounds like a politician to me albeit it is fair to say Trump is not a typical politician.
