Republican Sen. Thom Tillis on Amnesty: CEOs Need ‘Affordable’ Migrant Labor
Breitbart ^ | Jan 17 2023 | NEIL MUNRO

Politicians try to hide the pocketbook politics of migration — but Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) accidentally let the cat out of the bag during a staged PR event when she asked a plain-spoken mayor what he wants from a 2023 migration bill.

“We need cheap labor,” responded Gerardo Anaya, the mayor of Somerton, an Arizona agricultural town between Yuma and the Mexican border.

This has always been the case. The problem is that this is really not cheap labor. Perhaps their 1099 reflects cheap labor but the burden is simply shifted to the taxpayers for healthcare, schooling, food, etc etc.

PLENTY of countries use ‘affordable’ labor from other countries. What they DO NOT DO, is open their borders wide for anyone who wants to come in, without any accounting.

Go look at Singapore for an example - A migrant works there for 2 years, his family stays back home. He lives on the job site, and after 2 years, if he behaves, he’s sent home with a bunch of dough. If he doesn’t behave, he’s sent home sooner, with little or no dough. If he doesn’t like the deal, he can stay home and hope for the best.

I have a friend who works for one of the bigger commercial builders in my area. He is a project superintendent. He shakes his head at the hiring practices of the outfit he works for. The head of his concrete crew is a Naturalized Mexican and has been in the trades for years. And his crew is mostly made up of illegals. The company swears they check documentation when they are hired. However it seems that the same crew will have different names when they come back to work after the winter season is over. And the company owners know this. They don’t use e-verify because “we checked their documentation and it looked OK”.

Everybody knows this goes on all over this country and choose to ignore it because of the money involved. So it is no surprise to me that the gentlemen answered as he did...because that is what it’s all about..MONEY. If our fearless politicians, state and federal would enforce and fine the companys that game the system like this it might help lessen the problem. But too many are beholden to the donations that contractor associations can pour into a race.

why are Repubs still on the leash of Big Business, doing whatever they want without question when Big Business clearly has gone over to the Dems for the past decade or so?

“ No wonder corporate America is now woke and pro dem, they are feasting on low wage workers now. ”

It seems like a lot of tank and file conservatives really oppose any raises in taxes on billionaires and big woke corporations. Unfortunately, the big corps and billionaires don’t return the favor. They need oppose most conservative causes. And they want average peoples old age “entitlements”cut.

As for me, I’m done with being a small government conservative who fights to protect wealthy liberals from tax increases

there is plenty of labor in America to satisfy needs but they are paid by the US government not to work. Return the wet-backs from whence they came!

It would help if these websites included the Senator’s state in the title.

The Repubs do everything Big Business wants and are the party that supports and defends them and in return Big Business supports the Dems especially when it comes to Immigration and Woke Policies.

Uhm....for 30 years we were told there were 11 million of our Southern brethern in the country illegally. Now we know we have 3-5 million new benefit recipients over the last 2 years alone. My math says there are 30+ million here and we have plenty of unskilled labor.

Conveniently declines to define affordable labor. How about affordable CEO’s, who seem to have no trouble affording all those perks available to elites but out of reach to their minions?
