Joe Biden will now require travelers from China to show a negative coronavirus test to enter the United States after claiming in 2020 former President Donald Trump’s coronavirus response was “fanning the flames” of “hate, fear and xenophobia” against Asian Americans during the pandemic.
Beginning January 5, travelers from China by air will have to provide a negative Covid-19 test to enter the nation “within two days of their departure from airports in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau,” Politico reported.

Sounds a tad racist... Forcing Chinese people to provide a negative test, while the rest of us just fly around willy nilly... Especially given the lack of severity of Covid... It’s a disease that is relatively harmless to healthy individuals.
Lots of people who run to the hospital after a positive test are just wasting the time of healthcare professionals. Stay home and isolate yourself like you would for any other sickness.
Why would they announce in advance that they will impose a testing requirement unless they deliberately don’t want it to work. This announcement is just a magnet for the Chinese to rush into the country in the next few days.
There are none.

Trump had no testing, that he knew about, and made the right call.

China is a lot of people. The population is not what determines mutations/variants. It is that rare individual who catches the virus but can’t shake it. It goes on and on and on, giving the virus a very long time for its statistics to defeat defenses.
Of course Delta was far more deadly than alpha, which destroys the whole . . . mutations are always less deadly . . . theory, but he notes it is important to remember Delta came from India — which also has a lot of people.
He did not say anything about how to test to find that one individual that proves to be a variant factory.
But, let’s wait a week to start…
