(Reuters) -Moscow's proposals for settlement in Ukraine are well known to Kyiv and either Ukraine fulfils them for their own good or the Russian army will decide the issue, TASS agency quoted Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov as saying.

"Our proposals for the demilitarization and denazification of the territories controlled by the regime, the elimination of threats to Russia's security emanating from there, including our new lands, are well known to the enemy," the state news agency quoted Lavrov as saying late on Monday.

"The point is simple: Fulfil them for your own good. Otherwise, the issue will be decided by the Russian army."....

“In any event, historians and pundits will be debating this for at least the next hundred years.”

Can’t argue that one either.

Precisely! And I'm just honoring the Comrade here for his strongly pro-Russia comments in the Ukraine War threads.

And yeah, we get called far, far worse every day on those same threads by Comrade Bob and his friends.

In fact, I've got a running list of nasty names I get called on a daily basis, including "neocon trash," "globohomo," "Z-licker," "garbage troll," "snekbot," "swampnik," "warmonger," "war cheerleader," "cultist," "toddlerattler," "nazi pig," "Herr Rattler," "timberfluffler," "Biden Lover," etc., etc.

But yet the simple, straightforward word 'Comrade' somehow offends Bob here. It really is quite amusing at the clear double standard that he and his Kremlin pals are demanding now.

“As to me being pro-Russia, what do you base that on?”

Your posting history.

“To put it another way, it is possible to be neutral in this war, and want my country to be the same.”

But your posting history belies that. If you were truly neutral, you would not pick one side over the other.

Don’t get me wrong: That is not a criticism, because true neutrality is very, very rare; and very, very difficult to maintain with any degree of credibility, especially when one’s own country has some kind of interest in the game, for good or ill.

I call them “Neocon supporters”, as their position on Ukraine aligns perfectly with the Neocons (not to mention, many are also NeverTrumpers).

I guess the irony is completely lost on you, eh Comrade Bob?

You are so uninformed. Venezuela has oil. Ukraine has wheat farms. Venezuela will flourish as soon as they get rid of socialism. Ukraine will require 50 years. A fat pretty woman can lose weight. An ugly woman is never going to be pretty

FIFTH TIME you’ve name called me here. As to Neocon supporters, they are a GROUP of people here, for whatever reason(s), support the policies of the Neocons. If you have a better term for them, please let us know.

How am I picking the Russian side? When did I say that I want Russia to win? If Ukraine could win without WW3 resulting, I’d be fine with that outcome - just hard to see how (and yes, that’s an opinion). Whichever side wins would have no effect on me, or my country.

So let's get this straight, you just admitted that you engage in name calling yourself ("Karen," "Neocon," "Neocon Supporter," NeverTrumper, etc., etc.).

But yet you're demanding that admin do *something* about the word "Comrade," which is not even an obscenity, unlike other vile names I get called each and every day here.

Do you see me complaining? I've got a very thick skin. You obviously don't Comrade Bob. The irony IS lost on you, and you ARE a hypocrite.

So report away!

“Russia’s elite begins to ponder a Putinless future: Once unthinkable, the president’s removal can at least be contemplated”

Sounds good to me. With Putin out, the West will be put in their place FAR SOONER, and if it takes a nuclear exchange, then so be it.

“With Putin out, the West will be put in their place FAR SOONER, and if it takes a nuclear exchange, then so be it.”

That’s a prediction, based on statements from the Russians likely to replace Putin. We may demonize Putin, but everything I hear from others tells me that his replacement will put an end to the war, and if it takes nukes, then that’s how it will be done.

Bottom line, be careful what you wish for, you just may get it.

There are no NATO troops stationed permanently in Ukraine. But to the extent Ukraine invited NATO troops in to conduct military exercises, that only happened after Russia had invaded Ukraine and seized part of its territory permanently in 2014.

There is no corresponding recent US invasion of Mexico that would justify the presence of other troops in Mexican territory. But even if there were, and equivalent amounts of Chinese troops were conducting defensive training operations within Mexico, that still wouldn't be cause for us to invade Mexico.

The pro-Russia crowd loves to compare this to The Cuban Missile Crisis, but apparently are unaware that the Soviets kept troops stationed in Cuba for decades after the Cuban Missile Crisis, and we never went to war over it.

That’s not a prediction. That’s you clearly taking pleasure in the thought of millions of Americans getting incinerated.

The conscription callups are much of what inspires popular opposition to the Ukraine war. Most of the conscripts and their families know that they will be used as what Russian military idiom grimly refers to as "cannon meat."

The extraordinary lethality of modern weapons makes masses of poorly trained and ill-equipped troops a recipe for failure and useless casualties. The Russian military lacks an effective professional NCO and commissioned officer corps and suitable communications equipment and battle doctrine, failings that make it incapable of fighting as a modern army.

Even worse, many of Russia's best units and officers are already destroyed and dead in the attack on Ukraine with many of their best armored vehicles lost. This makes it impossible for Russia to rebuild depleted units by injecting replacement troops and equipment to bring them up to strength.

In sum, Russia simply does not have the ability to convert a mass of raw troops into a large increment of new military power for use against Ukraine.

“Russia isn’t doing anything the US hasn’t been doing for decades.”

Pig excrement alert. Did we invade a European nation with the intent to take their land with disregard for sovereignty?

F No.

“That’s not a prediction. That’s you clearly taking pleasure in the thought of millions of Americans getting incinerated.”

Why would I? I’m clearly in a Ground Zero for it (the mods can check my IP Address, which will show it).

The bottom line is that Putin is a MODERATE in Russia, but the Nazi-level hatred being whipped up by our government makes most people think he’s a one-off, and his replacement will be peaches and cream.

You are as entitled to be as misguided and confused as you want to be. If you think for a nanosecond the western countries won’t aid the rebuilding of Ukraine, you’re dead wrong.
