A drone believed to be Ukrainian penetrated hundreds of kilometers through Russian airspace, causing a deadly explosion at the main base for Moscow's strategic bombers in the latest attack to expose gaps in its air defences.
Moscow said it had shot the drone down causing it to crash at the Engels air base, where three service members were killed. Under its usual policy on incidents inside Russia, Ukraine did not comment.
The base, the main airfield for the bombers that Kyiv says Moscow has used in recent months to attack Ukrainian civilian infrastructure, is hundreds of miles from the Ukrainian frontier. The same planes are also designed to launch nuclear-capable missiles as part of Russia's long-term strategic deterrent.

Drones are certainly a game changer for modern warfare. I suppose this is like the Spanish Civil War, the perfect opportunity to try out the new “toys”.
That type of drone is a Soviet era model last produced in the late ‘80s I believe. The first time Ukraine tried to use one of these it landed in Croatia.
Was Engels its target? If so, shooting it down is almost the equivalent of it reaching its target.
Especially if ground crew are killed.

This is not a Russia vs Ukraine war.
It is a US Deep State/Totalitarian Globalist Depopulationist Psychopath vs Sovereign Nation-State war.
We fomented a Ukraine revolution/coup in 2014, caused a civil war and sided with the neo-Nazis and Ukrainian nationalists that wanted to exterminate the ethnic Russian population.
We encouraged Ukraine to ignore the Minsk Agreement it signed that would have brought peace to the region.
We armed Ukraine with offensive weapons, teased NATO membership for Ukraine and opened biological weapons labs there.
Then we built the Ukrainian army into the largest army in the NATO zone besides us, and massed it for deployment in the area of the Donbass in obvious preparation for an attack.
And finally, when Russia responded to all that, we claimed they invaded Ukraine for no good reason to annex territory.
The fact that you think FJB has the best interests of the USA at heart in this proxy war indicates how insane you are.
Why do stupid neocons assume the USA itself is safe from asymmetric and proxy warfare????
