So Trump proactively was searching for documents his government team should not have retained FOR him.
Actually it matters little what we think. It’s up to his lawyers and law enforcement to litigate their methods and reasons. Unless there is some sort of settlement, a judge or jury will decide the outcome.
Trump WASN’T being proactive. Trump’s lawyers found the documents after the former president retained an outside firm to search four locations after a federal judge ordered his legal team to conduct a more thorough search to make sure all documents marked classified had been returned to the government. The judge put it on the attorneys since they are officers of the court and have a lot at risk if they aren’t honest brokers.

Well yes I have made no assertions on the matter of the rightness or wrongness of the raid in this discussion.
I’ve presented the exact wording that I believe covers the taking of those documents.
After making an assertion you did not have grounds for and being challenged on the common sense of it, you quoted the relevant statute and insisted it backed you up. It did not back you up however. It made it clear that there were situations where a President can keep documents and situations where he can't and got into details. However with the relevant documents you had made your assertions about you did not give any grounds at all for thinking it fell into the category that he could not keep.

I challenged an assumption you made that seemed groundless. You still have not managed to supply grounds but you still keep trying to change the subject to save face. You could just admit that upon reflection you did not have grounds for your assertion. Thats up to you. I am not trying to debate you, I am trying to embarass you into honesty.

Every President removes documents and/or copies of documents from the White House upon leaving office. Most in turn are handed over to their respective Presidential Libraries.
But I forgot.... According to the democrats and shrub-league RINO never Trumpers, President Trump was never legitimately elected and therefore isn’t entitled to the rights and privileges extended to other Presidents.🙄

I would probably qualify as a Never Trumper. But I’ve never claimed he wasn’t legitimately elected. As for the transfer of articles to the archive, there may have been items that were later discovered to have not been turned over when departing. It seems there have been more than oversights. And promises of we’re being honest and you have it all, only to find the definition of honesty has been compomised. Ok. Whored. It’s telling when no one……let me repeat no one will attest that it’s all been turned over.
