I remember going to vote back in the early 80's. Show up in a line. The people at the table took your ID, checked it against the registration roll. You went into a booth with a curtain and flipped the toggles for each selection. You opened the curtain and doing so tabulated your vote. Next voter would begin after you exited.

Why did all that machinery have to be replaced with touchscreens? Oh I think I answered my own question.

Florida resident. Here’s our process

Come in to show your ID to person.

They check the voter role

Then you sign your name on electronic pad

You then are handed your ballot, and instructed where to go to cast your vote.

go into another room, seperated area to then fill in your ballot

go to a scanner that shows how many ballots have already been cast.

You insert your ballot. Theres a person monitoring the room the whole time and helping if your have question on how to scan the ballot.

You immediately see the number change by one.

Quick, easy, and you come out with a feeling its all legit....
