Trump calls out Youngkin amid 2024 chatter
The Hill ^ | 11/11/22 9:30 AM ET | BY CHLOE FOLMAR -

Posted on 11/11/2022 11:42:56 AM PST by RandFan

Former President Trump on Friday took aim at Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) amid rumors that the businessman could run for president in 2024.

“I Endorsed him, did a very big Trump Rally for him telephonically, got MAGA to Vote for him – or he couldn’t have come close to winning,” wrote Trump on his Truth Social account.

Trump has been hinting at announcing another bid for the White House as early as next week.

Trump also made a comment about Youngkin’s name sounding “Chinese” as he attributed the governor’s 2021 election win to his support.

“Young Kin (now that’s an interesting take. Sounds Chinese, doesn’t it?) in Virginia couldn’t have won without me,” said the former president.

The post by Trump comes a day after Youngkin’s Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears (R) said that she “couldn’t” support Trump if he made a third bid for the Oval Office in 2024.

“I could not support him. I just couldn’t,” said Sears, adding that voters are saying “enough is enough” in relation to Trump through their midterm votes.

This is done for a reason. What is the reason?

Narcissism! And, maybe psychopathy.

"Because the state media were playing him against President Trump while he remained quiet scratching his nads."

The state media is going to cast any Republican as the right hand of the devil. The point is to first get Republicans to eliminate Trump. Step two is to destroy the next in line.

“The Trump and DeSantis feud is a ruse”

Why did Trump lie and and threaten DeSantis?

I’m afraid Trump is doing what it is in his nature to do.

Hannibal Lecter: First principles, Clarice. Read Marcus Aurelius. Of each particular thing ask: what is it in itself? What is its nature? What does he do, this man ... ?

Trump royally screwed things up by making himself an issue in the final days of this fiasco. As Pataki said on FNC, many of those he had talked with in his home state agreed with Zeldin in principle but could not bring themselves to voting for a Trump supporter.

May they all get what they so richly deserve, good and hard.

I am not quite certain what to take from your close look at policy and procedure, except in your very last sentence, you state that “Trump is in control”. So you assume Trump is using a somewhat brutal, Machiaveillan method to achieve the desired results, inner-party diplomacy be damned. It’s risky and one will the bonds of sacrifice friendship, but maybe it will work.
I don’t agree, but I’m just a-sittin on the sidelines. I don’t really know.

This is getting stupid. We need to be working as a team in the midst of this war.

Those who claim to be ambassadors of Christ, should be joining a call for national repentance— not taking swipes at each other.

2 Chron 7:14 doesn’t happen by a political party alone.

Exactly. Now why can’t DeSleepy see that? He could put an end to their attempt to divide in less than 5 minutes. But he does nothing.

Why not Winnie The Pooh?

The crux of my comment boils down to:
These comments give the appearance that President Trump is unwilling to have public political focus on anything other than his political pursuits and appear to be belittling of the great contests, elections and successes of the processes just finished. This shows a lack of statesmanship that is unsettling for some of his supporters. Other supporters see the Presidential office as all important and the former President’s pursuit of that office as all-encompassing and see no disparagement in his actions. This division in reactions by his supporters is recent and yet to be seen as permanent or impacting his future viability.
Trump is in control as to which one of those two views wins out with his supporters. He can continue and double-down on this approach or he may chill out until his announcement and see what challenges he gets at that time.
