Democratic groups poured hundreds of thousands of dollars into the final two weeks of Maloney's race in a last-minute attempt to win.
New York Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee chairman, conceded defeat Wednesday in a phone call to Republican challenger Mike Lawler, a spokesperson for Maloney's campaign said Wednesday.
Maloney's concession, first reported by NBC News, came after Democratic super PACs and organizations poured hundreds of thousands of dollars into the final two weeks of his race in a last-minute attempt to win.
The Associated Press has not called the race, but with 98% of ballots counted, Maloney comes in at 49.4% of the vote to Lawler's 50.6%.
Top-ranking Republican Rep. Elise Stefanik congratulated Lawler on his win.
"Mike’s victory just sent SHOCKWAVES across the country as he FIRED failed DCCC Chair Sean Patrick Maloney!!" she tweeted.
So far, there’s some good news today.
I think there was fraud here yugely! This was stolen from Maloney! Oh, wait we won.
First Tyree Morebutt and now Shawn Baloney happy dance.
And so did Molinaro, two upsets, takebacks in NY.
Right on- this is my district and a flip.
As poor as a candidate Marc Molinaro is, looks like he’ll win the newly formed CD-19 in NY as well
Here he is on the right wih his "whatever".....
That picture makes me feel warm all over.

While there are seats still pending and those appear as “Won primary”.
The track record so far appears to be the following:
Senate 25 candidates endorsed
5 Pending 16 Won 4 Lost
House 164 candidates endorsed
9 Pending 143 Won 12 Lost

I worked in HOLLYWOOD for some years....
I still am not in favor of same sex entanglements.
Anyway, he has a job waiting for him at chef boyardee.
The question is how did Republicans win two Congressional races in New york, but do so terribly elsewhere in New York in the country?
To truly give an indication they should take out the safe seats. I mean whoever want gets endorsed in those safe seats is going to win.
Hope they share a big bowl of Chef Boyardee tonight to console themselves.
Upstate NY is Red, but near impossible to win anything statewide due to the millions of rat votes in NYC.
He can stay at home and raise his children, while his husband goes out and works.
I believe by the end of the week, the overall view of the mid-terms will look a lot better (redder).. Gotta win 1 of the 3 outstanding in GA/NV/AZ.. and we will see a lot of down ballot, state legislature, school board, court wins for Republicans.

Where is a source for more timely data?
The linked site doesn't reveal the % of ballots which have been counted, but it obviously is missing a ton of votes. According to that site Republicans have a chance to pick up CD-3, CD-4, CD-18 (probably won't happen), CD-19 and maybe hold onto CD-22. There's a tiny snowball's chance in hell of taking CD-25 as well.
Given a night like last night, in what crazy world is it possible that NEW YORK turns out to be one of the best REPUBLICAN states as far as pickups of House seats is concerned? Have we turned the clock back to 1954 or something?
Actually, a few of these hopeful pickups never really should have been so solidly Democrat in the first place, mainly those Hudson Valley districts -- they were marginal even before redistricting.
Oh wait it was all stolen, every election we lose is about those rascals stealing. I think we used to call this being a whiney loser b*tch
Sickening.
