Twitter: EU Warns Musk Not to Restore Free Speech Protections After Calls from Clinton and Other Democratic Leaders

We have been discussing how Democratic leaders like Hillary Clinton called on foreign companies to pass censorship laws to prevent Elon Musk from restoring free speech protections on Twitter. The EU has responded aggressively to warn Musk not to allow greater free speech or face crippling fines and even potential criminal enforcement. After years of using censorship-by-surrogates in social media companies, Democratic leaders seem to have rediscovered good old-fashioned state censorship.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.) declared Musk’s pledge to restore free speech values on social media as threatening Democracy itself. She has promised that “there are going to be rules” to block such changes. She is not alone. Former President Obama has declared “regulation has to be part of the answer” to disinformation.

For her part, Hillary Clinton is looking to Europe to fill the vacuum and called upon her European counterparts to pass a massive censorship law to “bolster global democracy before it’s too late.”...

This is no different than a newer version of “Project Mockingbird “ carried out by the CIA. Same old crap, different year.

Interesting how The Powers That Be are feeling so threatened by even people who have a scant following on twitter. And by Trump.

Seems that Musk’s intentions to restore free speech on Twitter has unhinged quite a few leftists. The truth scares the hell out of them.

We should have let Hitler have Europe except the horrible purge of the Jews. Thank God the Jewish people were saved but Belgium was not worth freeing, look where Belgium is now, their leaders are a big clown show with $*** for brains.

They have to censor free speech, to make it appear as though THEIR message is the majority opinion....so they can then instill their cheats.

So obvious.

Musk should just quietly turn off Starlink for the EU for a couple of days.

I like that.

Somehow I can’t imagine Rishi Sunak emulating his predecessor with such a statement.

We need to have it out with these f***ing Euroweenies right now! *THEY* do not control free speech in America.

We can never let them have veto power over American speech.

It’s time to start paying these bastards back in their own coin. If they’re pushing for another civil war they’ll lose that one too.

Just goes to show you that the real insurrection of Jan 6 was done by this crowd and the insurrection was against the citizens. They used that event to shut down free speech and thus any further talk about the stolen election.

When they realized they could even cancel the president of the United States from speaking on social media, they could do it with anybody that they feel is a threat to them.

France threatened Rumble regarding content they didn’t like, so Rumble cut off France.

I know Elon can’t cut off the EU .... but maybe he could give it a go for a couple of days & see what happens (only half joking here).

Wouldn't that be counterproductive as the EU can't block Starlink, so they are going to get twittered at whether they like it or not.

Watch: Woke Corporate America will cancel Twitter — however, their alternatives — Truth Social and Parler, for example — are not more palatable to them.
