Amen! That book is centered around an EMP blast in which a radioactive device is detonated several miles in the air. Different than a direct nuclear hit but probably more effective at killing folks.

The book is a bit dated, published in 2009, but it’s the best I’ve read on the subject. Ranks right up there with “Alas Babylon,” an older book by Pat Frank that deals with a town’s survival after a nuclear strike.
