That's according to the account of a lawyer for Dominion Voting Systems, which is seeking $1.6 billion from Fox in a defamation suit over false allegations on the network that the company committed election fraud.

The technology used by Dominion Voting Systems is elementary and similar to the desk tops of the 1980s. The simplistic algorithms tabulate and count votes. Your smart phone is a super computer compared to what is needed to count and tabulate votes.

So what is sacrosanct about voting machines? Why are they so secretive and proprietary? Why are they so expensive?

It should not be a big deal to recertify machines that have been subject to a forensic audit.

With all the secrecy and fuss about "proprietary" hardware and software, it is too easy to slip in WiFi chips and other ways and means to connect to the Internet.

Voting machines should be open source and transparent to all. There is something seriously wrong with the current picture.
