Russia lacks manpower to stop Ukrainian advance in Luhansk, says correspondent embedded with Russian military

The Russian military lacks the manpower necessary to hold of a further Ukrainian advance into the Luhansk region, a correspondent embedded with the Russian military in the occupied city of Svatove said on Tuesday evening.

“The Russian troops do not have enough manpower to stop the enemy attacks,” Alexander Kots, for Russian pro-government tabloid Komsomolskaya Pravda said in a video posted to Telegram. “The recent Russian losses are directly connected to that. It’s a very difficult period of time on the front line at the moment.”

He said that “we expect a serious fighting here very soon,” and that “it remains to be seen if it could stop the enemy advances.”

Kots confirmed that Russian forces were trying to fortify their defense at the line connecting the occupied cities of Kreminna and Svatova. Yuriy Podolyaka, a pro-Russian military blogger said on Monday that Russian troops had withdrawn to the Zherebets River, which runs just west of Kreminna and Svatova.

“Impossible for us here to prove or disprove either way.”

Really?

“We lost five people for every one they did,” said Ihor, a 30-year-old platoon commander who injured his back when the tank he was riding in crashed into a ditch.”

Metric tons of military sources (Jane’s Guide, etc., etc., etc., etc.) call your BS.

Western media has never once given a non fabricated or non embellished account. Not one mention of any Russian advance though anyone can see the maps.

Wow. Talk about a lack of self awareness. Let's see:

"Russian forces seized the southern city of Kherson and besieged other cities...

https://www.nytimes.com/2022/03/02/world/europe/kherson-ukraine-russia.html

Ukraine war: Troops could quit Severodonetsk amid Russian advance - official

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-61613479

There are literally tons of Western news articles chronicling the Russian advance into Ukraine. So to the extent someone is "fabricating" and "embellishing" what happened, that someone would seem to be you.

Wanna disprove that the Russians and Donbass militia have 5:1 kill ratios, if not higher, against Ukrainian forces, as well?

No need to disprove it until you provide any proof of your fantasies.

For now I may as well claim that Ukrainians are killing Russians at the 10:1 rate. Oh well, why not 100:1 rate.

Otherwise why would these invincible superhuman Russian forces need to call up 300.000 reservists. To replenish theses 6000 that they only lost according to you?

He didn’t draw much on “vastly deeper experience and knowledge” when he violated security protocol\policies to keep an extensive communication going with his “honey bunny” Paula. (Whatever happened to “infidelity” being a court martial offense? I guess for some it is! Probably too common to enforce anymore!) Apparently, the war didn’t keep him busy. Remember she was to write his biography! WTF!! Future historians not good enough?

He’s “surfaced “ in the media recently to let DNC power brokers know he’s available to run for president.

I worked with senior officers that knew him as far back as the academy. The stories about him are NOT inspiring!

Russians still have a metric ton of tanks left, Ukraine does not. Fact.

Modern tank weighs about 50 - 60 tons. So a metric ton of tanks left is not that much, single tank engine weighs about 1 ton. I can believe Russians have that much left.

Apparently, it eludes you that ‘metric ton’ is also a figure of speech. Not surprising, at all.

A story told by a single, wounded, ordinary soldier participating in one battle of the war as a proof of generalized description of the war tendencies. I have no more question.

Btw the article you qute never mentions Lughanks or Donetsk militia being able to inflict such losses, but it clearly states that Ukrainians telling the story were fresh recruits with no previous military experience and that they were fighting top Russia military units. So mush for your "proof".

While at HQ ACC, I worked with senior officers who were on his staff during Petraeus’ tenure as the CCDR at USCENTCOM, and they thought very highly of him.

Yes, I know of his dalliance with that woman, and that was wrong... but that’s completely unrelated to his analysis of what’s happening on the ground in Ukraine.

I know plenty that couldn’t stand him. Extraordinarily arrogant even for a general. Hire your own “biographer” to write about your “glory”! That’s what Paula Broadwell was supposed to do! Who does that? That alone should have tabled his career! It likely was just an excuse to have his ‘main squeeze’ along! How responsible is that? What kind of an example of leadership is that? How do you explain that to subordinates?
