HOUSTON — Two men were arrested Friday in connection with the shooting death of Harris County Precinct 3 Deputy Omar Ursin.

Ahsim Taylor, Jr., 20, and Jayland Womack, 20, have both been charged with murder in the case, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

The sheriff said both men were out on bond stemming from separate murder cases. Court records show the two were due in court for the separate cases in October.

Harris County Precinct 3 Constable Sherman Eagleton posted pictures to his social media showing Deputy Ursin's handcuffs being used on of the suspects, calling it "priceless."

According to court documents, Taylor and Womack were both out on $75,000 bonds. Womack is charged with murder in connection with a 2021 northeast Houston robbery while Taylor is charged with capital murder from a 2021 car sale meet-up that turned deadly.

Deputy Ursin had just left his favorite restaurant with dinner for his family when he was killed Sunday, August 28. Investigators said Ursin was not in uniform and was in his own car when he was shot and killed on his way home.

Homicide detectives still aren't sure why Ursin was targeted. Investigators believe the shots were fired as he was driving in front of West Lake Middle School. The shooter was in a newer model dark sedan with tinted windows.

It is absolutely mind boggling that any judge would let people charged with murder out on bond. The USA is sunk.

“””Court records show the two were due in court for the separate cases in October.””””

Well, at least the two will show up for their October court date.

Unless, of course, they get released on a bond for this murder.

Murder suspects out on bond committed more ‘gun violence’? Obviously the gun rights of law-abiding citizens are the problem, and we should act immediately to curtail those rights even more than we already have! /liberal

It seems the people who have the least respect for black lives are black people. This is followed closely by white liberals who could do something about it but don’t because it is after all just black people.

Here’s an idea: State legislators could do their jobs and enact laws that forbid releasing murder suspects and repeat offenders on easy bail. The judges are going to keep releasing them until something stops them.

Out on bond for murder. Why did anyone bother to arrest them in the first place? How soon before murder is formally decriminalized?

Why are they persecuting these gentlemen? That is rank intolerance of cultural differences which should be, instead, celebrated.

These fellows are Black and letting them out on bond is part of Reparations. Spose they will get bonded out again for the current incident?
