President Donald Trump suggested that the proposed prisoner swap between Russia and the United States that would return jailed WNBA star Brittney Griner in exchange for a Russian arms dealer "doesn’t seem like a very good trade."
"She knew you don’t go in there loaded up with drugs, and she admitted it," Trump told the Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show. "I assume she admitted it without too much force because it is what it is, and it certainly doesn’t seem like a very good trade, does it? He’s absolutely one of the worst in the world, and he’s gonna be given his freedom because a potentially spoiled person goes into Russia loaded up with drugs."
Trump was referring to reports that the United States is attempting to secure the release of Griner, and former U.S. Marine Paul Whelan, in exchange for Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout who is known as the "Merchant of Death" due to his weapons sales that fueled deadly conflicts around the world.
"She went in there loaded up with drugs into a hostile territory where they’re very vigilant about drugs," Trump added. "They don’t like drugs. And she got caught. And now we’re supposed to get her out — and she makes, you know, a lot of money, I guess. We’re supposed to get her out for an absolute killer and one of the biggest arms dealers in the world. Killed many Americans. Killed many people."

He’s right.
That’s the bottom line.
We have needed someone to speak the truth frankly and without fear for a long long time.
I challenged someone today to name the other American involved the possible swap. Of course they didn’t know - a white, hetero male - sign of the times.
Nope and the fact you disagree and are chiming in on it speaks volumes about your intellect on here as well.......Thanks for your input... /s
Dems are never any good at making deals.
Yeah, so you want him to parse his remarks, and cow down to the rinos and others... and the media and tell them what they want to hear....
He speaks his mind, and he’s right most always, and if he were to listen to advice like yours, he’d be another politician...
Show some confidence in the man....
Thank you very much....
“...but I don’t think chiming in on this topic has any real upside for him.”
Why does it have to have an upside? Why can’t truth be distinguished as itself rather than trying to gain anything by saying it?
He is right. There are a number of American citizens that have been there for years being found guilty of spying, real political prisoners, and many in prison over there for drugs just like she did. So what makes her so very special except she’s a goon basketball player that we can afford to release a name drug trafficker who will go back to killing people, some Americans?

An overrated tranny for a criminal arms dealer? Pedojoe takes another one up the rear for his pal Putin.
LOSING! Only 2 plus years to go!
Maybe if they were both dead bodies, it wouldn’t be such a bad trade.
And, would be great to see him say no, will keep our prisoner, you keep yours.
What you said. I don’t personally know of a single person who wants to bring that freak back, but I do know a lot of people who would like to see him, her, or it, get a prison term.
Russia has suggested Bout for the swap. The U.S. hasn’t agreed to anything.
Russia saw Obama give away the store to the Taliban for a traitor and knows they will get Bout. So they will toy with Brandon for a bit and let the US twist in the wind.

There are reasons Americans are not told much about him.
No trade was in the works for anyone until Blinken contacted Lavrov to get Griner back. I guess asking for Whelan was to make it not so obvious that it was really all about Griner.
Sounds like a Bergdahl type trade to me. We get a sleazy black America hatin’ lesbo guy and Russia gets a prolific arms dealer.
“On April 27, 2022, Reed was released back to the United States as part of a prisoner exchange for Konstantin Yaroshenko, a Russian pilot convicted of drug smuggling.”

That guy has some interesting background.
“Russia gets a prolific arms dealer”
Russia probably isn’t able to spare lots of arms for export currently.
The Wikipedia article on Trevor Reed had an interesting link:
“Article 322. Illegal Crossing of the State Border of the Russian Federation
“1. Crossing of the protected State Border of the Russian Federation without official documents and a proper permit,
shall be punishable by a fine in the amount of 200 to 500 minimum wages, or in the amount of the wage or salary, or any other income of the convicted person for a period of two to five months, or by deprivation of liberty for a term of up to two years.”
