The video had been made by a person who had loved the park as a child, and wanted to memorialize it for history.
He referenced a magazine article (perhaps in Texas Monthly?) about the park and its closing. In the article, one of the owners cited several reasons why the park had to close, but one of them was a carefully-worded sentence to the effect that "cultural and behavioral changes had made it impossible to maintain a safe environment for our guests."
Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure the link to that video was included in a story here on FR. This would have been seven or eight years ago.
Word to the wise, Disney.
Astroworld - Houston ghetto
Lakeside Amusement Park in Roanoke although wage increases played a major role
Was it Astroworld? I was there once when I was 12. 1970.
Yep, same thing happened to Olympic Park in Irvington, NJ where my dad went frequently as a child - one of the oldest amusement parks in the world when it closed in the late 1960s after mobs of “mostly peaceful protesters” ran around attacking other attendees.

As if they care. Eventually closing it would be considered “racist” so I see those now running it into the ground counting on a government bail out.
