Yep. That's usually the way it goes for me, too.
Take the car in to the shop to have the windshield wipers replaced, and the darn thing stops running. Apparently, the crankshaft warps, the transmission sticks in reverse, and the rear-end freezes up. The dealer says "those things just happen". That'll be $15,879 to repair. That happened with my daughter's Nissan. It was running really rough. She took it to the dealer service department. They called her and said it would cost $2400 to repair. I went there with her and told them no deal. They said it needed to be towed out as it won't run. I said it was running when she brought it in, and I demanded that they bring it out in running condition. Ten minutes later they brought it out. I took it home, used an air compressor to blow water and debris out of the spark plug holes, then re-gapped the plugs. Car ran fine after that. Don't trust dealers!
