I don’t know, and Thomas himself must have modified his views somewhat since, back in the day, he thought it was critical for black men to marry black women.

But his basic views appear not to have changed. He thought then that white liberals, affirmative action, and even integration itself held back black progress, and he supported a sort of rugged individualism with blacks lifting themselves through their own efforts.
