The Naked Truth about Energy Transitions
americanthinker.com ^ | 6/5/2022 | Jeanne Donovan

The difference between the 19th century and the 21st century is that new energy technology slowly grew in popularity while capitalism fueled the desire for a better life. Now Americans are suffering during Biden's presidential term, and the wounds are self-inflicted. Politicians and regulatory bureaucrats are purposely destroying our energy independence while pretending their policies have nothing to do with issues of inflation, shortages, and possible rationing. They are misdirecting blame to Putin and COVID-19, but they know better. Biden and his cohorts are deliberately weakening our country for what seems like a blend of Marxist-green ideology. They even think our pain is funny.

Today's climate-mongers, led by ideologues such as Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Jennifer Granholm, Elizabeth Warren, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, to name a few, are so mindlessly shortsighted that they apparently can't think beyond the tips of their noses. They demand we give up fossil fuels and replace them with renewable energy, and they want it right now! Damn the consequences to you, me, and our country during the transition. They know that they'll all be dead in fifty years, so they're not willing to let change happen incrementally, plus they have only two and a half years left of Joe's presidency to complete their build-back-worse strategy, and if some of these ideologues are true to their stated belief, we will all be dead in the next nine years because of global warming. Therefore, we absolutely must accept their scripture and change our sinning ways to save the planet. All the more reason they push us toward presumed energy nirvana before our extinction occurs. These people are not patient or logical, so they never think ahead to imagine what could go wrong if they succeed with their mission to rewire the world in their image.

Uh, the word 'naked' associated with some of those named in the article is not a visual I want. Anyway, most of these assclowns have any idea whatsoever of how much their daily lives depend on products derived from the use of petro related by products. Nearly everything. THEY may want to live in a mud hut with dung fires burning but not me.....

From Neil Oliver:

“Again and again, I turn to the Keep It Simple philosophy – what some call Occam’s Razor. If it seems to make no sense that 30 million petrol and diesel cars might be replaced with electric alternatives powered by a non-existent infrastructure … that’s because the simpler explanation is that almost none of us are meant to have cars at all – electric or otherwise. If you wonder why in the US and here in Britain we are turning our backs on fracking and other sources of power under our feet and beneath our surrounding seas, it is because the intention is that we in the troublesome West should have much, much less energy available to us as ordinary people than before. The intention is not to go green. The intention is that we should go without.”

Well, now there’s an idea. My job ends in two months, so I suppose I could go into business creating the most fashionable hemp neckwear for the most distinguishing upper-class ladies. I will be sure to celebrate my success by eating the cake when the bread runs out.

We have a 6 year old fully loaded Malibu, it may have 55.000 miles on it. It rides well, spacious enough for 2 seniors. 30-35 miles to the gallon, why change? We figured it would be our last car baring accidents. We drive less each year. Hub keeps it in top shape. His single daughter has 1 of those rolling death traps Hybrids. She has a IT Business, that for lack of chips may not exist for long. She hit a deer with her 2 yr old one, totaled the deer and car.

We have 2 more modern vehicles, but also a 2000 pickup. The old truck looks like heck but is good for trips ‘around town’. Everything is manual (windows for example have to be rolled down) & I doubt it has many chips. Gas mileage isn’t great, but better than our ‘modern’ vehicles.

The local stores may end up having to install hitching posts the way things are headed. We have enough room for horses (had them here for 40 years) & with the fertilizer shortage, the manure would come in handy. The Amish & Mennonites who have buggies will do just fine. :-)

Live in a subdivision. We have a older Equinox we keep when we need to go different directions at the same time. Usually dr appointments. Grocery store is less than 3 miles, wonder if my battary wheelchair would make it there and back. Next town is in the next BLUE county. Which is the Crime Capitol, Covid Capitol of TN...Memphis. Police Chief, black female has been robbed twice, hasn’t made a dent on her dumb soft on crime ideology.

Some idiot suggested to buy a generator for the Blackouts/brown outs. With gas at $5 a gallon, and had no idea how they run. Or how to safely run one. Or what 2 weeks of no electricity would be like. We live in the South 110 heat index. But we are also Tornado Alley, Madrid Fault, Ice Storms, or occassionally snow, strong winds, flood, We have gas heat, electric stove, Endless hot water tank. Gas BBQ for alternative cooking, Gas log fire place. But gasoline needs special storage and at $5 a gal in a 5 gal can won’t last long in a generator. Besides all of Memphis’ criminals will be looking for what you have. You best be armed. Many in this 7,000 pop town are retired Military.
