She has said, through her lawyer, that she pulled the door to close it after kicking the rock away that was holding the door open. The DPS says that she slammed the door closed. And NPR says she closed the door. Words matter.
Maybe these doors are designed to close and properly lock, when they have been opened enough for someone to walk through, and that swinging back motion locks the door.
Bu maybe it’s a different story, if the door is proper open by the width of a rock, and then pulled to, after the rock is kicked aside??? Tests can be run independently to verify if this could be an issue, or not. IF it is an issue, then the Govt. needs to put out a warning to all schools that use doors like this, with instructions on how to properly close the door to lock it, after it has been propped open, EVEN IF PROPPING THE DOOR OPEN IS AGAINST SCHOOL REGULATIONS.
