Republican US Senate candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz campaigns in Gettysburg
WGAL 8 NBC ^ | May 9, 2022 | Barbara Barr

The Pennsylvania primary is next week, and the race among Republicans running for U.S. Senate remains tight.

Dr. Mehmet Oz campaigned in Adams County on Monday afternoon. He spoke to voters at Battlefield Harley-Davidson in Gettysburg, and WGAL was the only television station to cover the event.

State Rep. Dan Moul (R-91) announced his endorsement of Oz, along with businessman David LeVan.

But polls show the former television show host still has work to do to win over Pennsylvania voters. He has a narrow lead over commentator Kathy Barnette and former hedge fund CEO Dave McCormick.

He told News 8's Barbara Barr that he's not concerned he's not pulling away, considering an endorsement from former President Donald Trump and the money Oz has spent on ads.

"I'm really very comfortable with what's happening. It's a bit of what we predicted. Listen, there's some good candidates. The people of Pennsylvania have been confused by an unbelievable onslaught of negative advertising. When someone spends $35 million against me, it raises concerns in everyone's minds. It muddies the waters, which is what the intent was. The fact that I'm still leading, despite that onslaught of advertising, I think speaks to the staying power of my campaign," he said.

The black woman is better looking so she will probably win. Usually the best looking candidate wins. It’s just where we are as a society.

Oz is a total fraud.

Here's Trump's future statement in 2003 when Oz stabs him in the back.

"Fake news is at it again! I never endorsed "Doctor" Oz, he was a terrible candidate!"

The “Black” woman as you referenced, may be the best candidate.

Dr. Oz is an America First patriot that Trump knows and is endorsing. He’s going to give us the best chance to win PA in November too.

If you want a NeverTrumper politician in bed with China, vote for Dave McCormick.

If you think looking at a spreadsheet to pick a candidate in the way to govern, someone who was a Never Trumper in 2015/16, someone who Trump doesn’t know and cannot really trust not to stab him in the back, and someone who lost her last election by 20% and and will lose the general to communist Fetterman, vote for Kathy.

Just the way it is.

Go Oz!

It’s him or Barnette all the way.

I’m in PA and voting for Oz. But would be happy with Barnette.

Anyone but Hedge Fund McCormick.

I’ll leave that up to the citizens of that state. I’m just an observer in this case. I will note that Trump has in the past supported some real stinkers. But over all I think he has done an admirable job.

Since he is running as a Republican, I am sure the “journalists” will make sure to put his first name, “Mehmet,” prominently in every piece. Meanwhile, Bill Cunningham got in trouble for saying “Hussein,” in reference to Obama Osama at a McCain rally.

America first? LOL. He votes in other country’s elections. A vote for Oz is a vote for globalism.

We’ll see. I think I’m going with Oz. That’s Trump’s guy. And I think he’d do better in the general.

But I totally support Kathy.

I love the United States and it’s Constitution, not China, Turkey, and Soros. You will vote for Oz because he votes in Turkey. If you want Erdogan as leader, why don’t you move to Turkey, instead of importing it here? What percentage U.S. do you want to move overseas?

I see what you did. You say America, because you refuse to recognize the United States.
